Avalanche class


SNOWPACK: 


Students learned how to assess the stability of the snowpack by digging snow pits and looking at the snow layers.

                                             TERRAIN: 

Students learned how to assess avalanche terrain and how to travel safely in the backcountry. 

RESCUE SCENARIOS:

Students were able to practice rescue training using their beacon, shovel, and probe! 

WEATHER and DECISION MAKING: 

Students learned how to manage challenging weather in the backcountry and have fun!
